Global software for print

Galileo is a media planning and media analysis system, which is used predominantly for print data. It is designed for media providers, advertising agencies and media independents.

The main advantages of Galileo are:

  • All stages of the media planning process can be carried out, including optimisation
  • Various analysis and reporting, including cluster analysis
  • Full integration of all activities
  • Layout templates provide easy formatting of output with just one click
  • Can handle the largest databases and processes data in very quickly

Data to be used

Galileo uses respondent level readership (or watching/listening) data. This allows analysis of any desired target group.

Analysis and Planning

Galileo provides flexibility - all the essential components of a planning and analysis system are available and can be used in whatever order is most convenient.

Ranking

A single click on any rank criterion immediately carried out the ranking. It can be based on any media statistic. Scatter plot layouts are also available.

Reporting

The spreadsheet-like reporting tool provides a flexible and dynamic view of the data allowing anything and everything to be rearranged by dragging and dropping. Reports are held in multi-dimensional pivot tables with fully customisable layout. Once created, a layout template can be applied to any report. A comprehensive range of reports is provided: basic cross-tabs ("anything by anything') as well as tables containing any media statistics, OTS distributions, duplications, "cover build up" figures, trend analysis.

Report

Planning

The Planner allows quick creation and evaluation of campaign plans. Simply create a plan and, with a single click, evaluate a single plan or all plans. The "splitter bar" enables you to see both plan and statistical information in one window in any format required.

Planner

Optimisation

The "Optimiser" calculates the best plan according to defined criteria and limits. Two algorithms for calculation are available: the first, "Coordinate-wise Descent" stops after a specific limit is reached, whilst the second, "Method of feasible directions" sets out to satisfy all limits. Either method quickly produces a good starting point on which the planner can then use their experience and knowledge to produce an individually tailored final plan.

Correspondence analysis

Correspondence analysis provides graphical examination of the relationship between different media and demographics in a two-dimensional space. The closer together items are on the graph, the greater the relationship.
